This project is rooted in my childhood recollection.
I've brought one fragment of that memory in the form of a chair, which embodies the essence of this memory: the texture of freshly-baked baguettes, the rich aroma of butter, and the distinctive whirring of a bread slicer.
Memories, smells, and the tactile experience; these three intangible elements can never truly be held, but we can have them within our minds. Childhood memories, in particular, are intense yet abstract and often elusive. By turning these intangible elements into a physical object, I aimed to capture the essence of those memories in a way that could be found a part of the memory when they sit or stand on the chair.
A Memory comes a specific space, and a one-dimension that forms around the spot where we sit or stand. And in that moment, the chair becomes a manifestation of that space and that memory.
The chair is not just a piece of furniture, but a symbol of the space and memory. I hope that those who sit or stand on the chair will be transported to that intense moment that inspired its creation, experiencing a part of the memory in their own unique way. It's my way of giving shape and form to the intangible, and sharing the sense of memories with others.
